Ma(s)king Her is a multidisciplinary performance imagining an Afro-feminist mythology. Aligned with AfroSurrealism and black feminist thought, the work addresses the absence of women of color in speculative fiction as empowered beings. To generate the work, Honey Pot Performance is embarking on shared a creative process with the public to co-author the community driven mythological universe of Ma(s)king Her’s heroine through reading groups, workshops and “choose your own adventure” game structures.

Voices taken from diaries, letters, speeches, songs, and other sources convey the experiences of Alabamians who lived through and shaped the history of these periods.

Just enjoy the museum’s interactive educational resources for children and families in the Hands-On-Gallery and Grandma’s Attic. Here, families and children can dress in period costumes, play with toys from bygone eras, make their own crafts, listen to stories, and much more.

You might be interested to know that the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa began in 1827 and today the campus inhouses an art gallery, 50-acre arboretum, pre-Civil War classroom, two museums, and the Gorgas House, which now serves as a museum along with the promptcharters.comuniversity of alabama

You will aslo love the Gorgas House built in 1829 as the first structure completed on the campus by renowned architect William Nichols.

It is interesting to see here the Alabama Museum of Natural History being located in Smith Hall, the first building to be built on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa in the 20th C. Enjoy here the exhibits like displays from the Age of Dinosaurs, the Coal Age, and the Ice Age. Visitors can also view the Hodges meteorite, the only meteorite known to have struck a human.

Then there is the Paul W. Bryant Museum highlighting the history of the University of Alabama football tradition back to its beginning in 1892. The collections highlight other sports played by University athletes as well.
